SAVYINT Provides Core Electronic Transaction Authentication Platform for LPBank 

Overview – Industry: Banking & Financial Services – Customer: LPBank – Project: Deployment of SmartOTP for LPBank’s retail customers and internal users  SAVYINT successfully provided the core electronic transaction authentication platform (SmartOTP) for LPBank, enabling secure, convenient, and seamless transaction authentication directly within the bank’s digital banking application. The solution strengthens security for both financial and non-financial transactions, reduces reliance on SMS OTP, and supports LPBank in meeting the requirements of Circular No. 50/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 77/2025/TT-NHNN issued by the State Bank of Vietnam.  LPBank’s Need for Enhanced Authentication Security in Digital Banking  Established in 2008, LPBank has built an extensive network across 34 provinces and cities and is one of the 14 banks classified among the credit institutions of systemic importance within Vietnam’s banking system.  Amid growing risks related to impersonation, credential theft, and transaction fraud, as well as the regulatory requirements under Circular No. 50/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 77/2025/TT-NHNN on strengthening security and safety in the provision of online banking services, LPBank – with more than 5 million individual customers using digital banking services – required an authentication solution that complies with State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) regulations and can operate at scale while ensuring strong security, ease of use, and flexible integration with its existing digital banking infrastructure.  At the same time, LPBank needed to strengthen the centralized administration and operation of its authentication system. Activities such as service activation, SmartOTP status management, exception handling, authentication history lookup, and transaction monitoring needed to be managed centrally, transparently, and with full traceability.  To address these requirements, LPBank selected SAVYINT SmartOTP as its core transaction authentication platform, working with SAVIS as the integration and implementation partner to integrate the solution into its digital banking ecosystem. This enables LPBank to progressively reduce its reliance on traditional SMS OTP while establishing a secure and scalable authentication foundation aligned with its long-term digital banking strategy.  The SAVYINT Solution  With extensive experience in authentication and security solutions for the Banking & Financial Services sector, SAVYINT provides SmartOTP as the core technology platform for electronic transaction authentication, comprising the following key components:  1. SmartOTP SDK Integrated Directly into the Mobile Banking Application  The SmartOTP SDK is integrated directly into the LPBank Plus mobile banking application. Through the SDK, the Mobile Banking application can invoke SmartOTP functions at authentication checkpoints throughout the customer transaction journey.  Customers can activate SmartOTP, use biometric authentication where supported, authenticate transactions, and manage their SmartOTP settings directly within the LPBank Plus application. This enables a fast, convenient, and seamless authentication experience while strengthening the bank’s ability to manage transaction risks across its mobile banking channel.  2. The function-based SDK integration model also enables flexible integration, easier maintenance, and long-term alignment with the bank’s digital banking ecosystem. At the same time, LPBank has met the requirements under Circular No. 50/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 77/2025/TT-NHNN issued by the State Bank of Vietnam, with the solution applied consistently to individual customers.  This provides an important foundation for LPBank to strengthen Digital Trust, protect transactions, and enhance the customer experience throughout its digital banking journey. 

eIDAS 2.0 – Reshaping a Safer and More Trusted Digital Future for Europe

Building on the foundation of eIDAS – the European framework for “Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services” in the European Single Market – eIDAS 2.0 was introduced to strengthen the region’s digital infrastructure, promising greater efficiency and higher levels of trust in the digital economy. eIDAS – The Regulation on Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services Approved in September 2014, the Regulation on “Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services” for the European Single Market, known as eIDAS, became fully applicable in September 2018. Under eIDAS, European citizens and businesses can use nationally issued electronic identification systems to verify their identities when accessing public services or carrying out cross-border electronic transactions. eIDAS focuses on two key areas: Importantly, eIDAS applies not only to public authorities but also to private-sector organizations that use electronic identification or trust services, including those in the financial services, insurance, healthcare, and e-commerce sectors. As such, eIDAS serves as a unified digital trust infrastructure for cross-border electronic transactions across Europe. Why is eIDAS 2.0 Needed? Although eIDAS significantly improved Europe’s electronic identification and trust services infrastructure, several limitations remained. The emergence of new electronic identification services and models has resulted in a fragmented market. The scope of the existing legal framework no longer fully reflects the way electronic identification and trust services are being used in practice. Today, private companies also provide eID solutions, but these solutions do not necessarily follow a unified standard offering the same high levels of security, assurance, and transparency as eID schemes recognized under eIDAS. While eIDAS-compliant eID solutions are secure, their adoption and usability in the private sector have remained relatively limited. Challenges also exist in areas such as identity verification, data management, and user control. Today’s users expect a seamless and secure online experience. They want to access both public and private services such as healthcare and banking through a single, convenient digital identity or Single Sign-On (SSO) experience. However, the original eIDAS framework focused primarily on cross-border access to public services, while giving less attention to the needs of the private sector. Even for public services, barriers remain that prevent many citizens from accessing trusted electronic identification solutions. Social media platforms and private technology companies already offer login options based on existing accounts, such as Facebook, Microsoft, or Google. However, these solutions raise concerns regarding data control and security. They often lack robust real-world identity verification processes, potentially making systems more vulnerable. In addition, using these platforms across multiple services may result in non-transparent data sharing and privacy concerns. What is eIDAS 2.0? eIDAS 2.0 – officially known as the European Digital Identity Framework under Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 – is the updated version of the European Union’s framework for electronic identification, authentication, and trust services. The updated framework is designed to improve the efficiency of cross-border services while supporting secure electronic identification solutions for both the public and private sectors. eIDAS 2.0 represents a structural evolution of Europe’s digital identity and trust services framework. It addresses limitations in the original framework, expands the range of regulated trust services, strengthens security and governance requirements, and, most notably, introduces the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) as a core component of Member States’ digital identity ecosystems. Key Changes Introduced by eIDAS 2.0 The transition from eIDAS to eIDAS 2.0 introduces two major developments aimed at strengthening Europe’s legal and regulatory framework for electronic identification and trust services. Expanded Trust Services eIDAS 2.0 further develops the regulatory framework for Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSPs), with particular emphasis on identity verification processes for individuals and legal entities when qualified certificates are issued. The objective is to ensure greater consistency and harmonization across Europe. In addition, new qualified trust services – including electronic archiving, electronic ledgers, and the management of remote electronic signature devices – have been introduced under eIDAS 2.0. European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) One of the most significant innovations introduced by eIDAS 2.0 is the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet). The EUDI Wallet is a secure, user-controlled digital wallet that enables individuals to store, manage, and selectively share their identity data, credentials, and other personal information, as well as verified legal documents such as driving licences, educational qualifications, professional certificates, or bank account information. The Wallet can be used for both online and offline services, allowing users to conveniently share verified credentials with relying parties including government authorities and private-sector organizations for purposes such as identity verification or electronic signing. Under the original eIDAS framework, EU Member States had the discretion to decide whether to develop or notify official national electronic identification schemes. This resulted in significant differences in adoption rates among Member States and inconsistencies in cross-border interoperability. eIDAS 2.0 replaces this approach with a more unified and mandatory framework. By the end of 2026, each EU Member State is required to make at least one European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) available to its citizens and residents. Conclusion The adoption of eIDAS 2.0 marks a significant step toward a secure, interoperable, and trusted ecosystem for electronic identification and trust services across the European Union. By emphasizing user-friendly experiences, strong security mechanisms, and streamlined processes, eIDAS 2.0 is expected to deliver tangible benefits for citizens, businesses, and government institutions alike. While the detailed implementation roadmap is still being developed, the foundations have now been established for a safer, more inclusive, and more trusted digital future for people across Europe.

Even if users delete cookies or start a new login session, the system can still determine whether the device is familiar or not.   This is also why device fingerprinting is widely used in authentication systems, fraud detection tools, and identity security platforms, as it adds an intelligent layer of identification that does not rely solely on usernames and passwords.   How Does Device Fingerprinting Work?   Like a miniature fraud detection system, device fingerprinting also operates based on the mechanism of: collecting information → combining the information to create a unique fingerprint → identifying the device over time.   Step 1: Collecting Device Attributes   When users access a website or log in to an application, the system begins collecting information related to the device, such as browser information including type, version, and plugins; operating system and device type; screen size and resolution; language and time zone; IP address and network signals, among others.   This data is collected passively and does not interrupt the user experience.   Step 2: Creating a Unique Fingerprint for the Device   After collecting sufficient information, the system combines these data points to generate a unique identifier, forming a distinct fingerprint value.   Step 3: Storing and Matching the Device Identity   Once the fingerprint is created, the system securely stores it on the server side. Alongside all the technical details, the Vietnet team also got to explore real life use cases from banking, finance, and government – so they can see exactly how the solution fits each customer’s unique challenges. Digital Trust & Compliance Beyond SAM Appliance, Savyint offers a full Digital Trust solution stack designed to strictly follow local and international legal requirements. It’s built on four pillars: Risk Management & Compliance, Cyber Security & App Protection, SCA/MFA Identity, and FMS AI Fraud. On top of strong authentication (passwordless with FIDO2/Passkey, biometrics, contextual auth, Smart OTP, push notifications…), the solution adds AI and Machine Learning. PIONEERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF SECURITY: QUANTUM AND AI HORIZON 

On March 26, Savyint welcomed a student delegation from the University of San Agustin, Philippines. During the visit, the students got a first-hand look at leading technology trends such as Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), the Digital Trust platform, AI in fraud prevention, and especially Agentic AI – fields that are shaping the future of global digital security and transformation. 1. Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) – Ready for the New Era As quantum computing gets closer to a breakthrough, traditional encryption methods are at risk of being broken. PQC (Quantum-Resistant Cryptography) has emerged as a vital solution, designed to protect data infrastructure against the massive computing power of this new era. Savyint is a pioneer in integrating advanced PQC standards (like ML-KEM and ML-DSA) into its core systems to secure devices. Furthermore, Savyint has established the Quantum AI Lab – a leading lab in Vietnam for researching and testing these quantum-resistant algorithms. Here, they simulate real-world attacks from “AI hackers” to test how strong their security layers really are. 2. AI Fraud & Digital Trust – Protecting Finance in the AI Age Beyond the pressure from quantum computers, threats like Deepfakes and automated malware are making financial security more urgent than ever. Savyint shared an overview of the 2025 threat landscape, where fraud not only causes financial loss but also creates legal risks for organizations. To fight this, Savyint introduced its Digital Trust platform. This platform uses AI to analyze user behavior, detect unusual activity, and make decisions in real-time. The system is built on four pillars: device security, advanced authentication, AI-based fraud detection, and risk management. 3. Agentic AI – Toward Self-Operating Security Systems Savyint also introduced Agentic AI – AI systems capable of making decisions and taking action on their own, rather than just creating content or analyzing data. In fraud prevention, Agentic AI is used to simulate complex attack scenarios to “train” defense systems, helping them react and adapt faster over time. Additionally, these AI agents can: This approach marks a shift from “reactive” systems to “autonomous” (self-operating) systems, where AI acts as an active partner in the security ecosystem. The visit gave the University of San Agustin students a practical look at how cutting-edge tech is used in real businesses.
